Ms. Cockerham practices exclusively immigration law. She is experienced in all facets of immigration legal representation, including employment immigration, deportation defense, and family and humanitarian-based petitions. She has particular expertise in visas for victims of crimes and the intersection between criminal and immigration law. Ms. Cockerham served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Sean Keenan at the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Tucson, Arizona, and has worked to provide legal services for immigrants and refugees at a number of nationally renowned organizations, including the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. in New Orleans, the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago, the International Rescue Committee in New York City, Southern Arizona Legal Aid in Tucson, and Holy Cross Ministries in Salt Lake City.
Ms. Cockerham received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona, where she was the winner of the Chandler-Carroll Award for Excellence in Public Interest Law. She is an active member of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and is fluent in Spanish and English.
